I feel a little awkward asking for money, but the move to the new host is going to cost a little bit of cash (I'm not sure how much, not too much) and I'm pretty much hand-to-mouth. I am hoping to start putting up my own ads soon, which will hopefully make the site self-supporting, but I'm looking for a little startup money.

I don't want to guilt-trip anyone; I'm just looking for a little money, and if it's not doable, that's fine.

Also, I know there are a few of you who have your own blogs; I am looking for a Blogads sponsor, because I think that will probably be better than going with Google.

Today's Game Thread Video is dedicated to -- you guessed it -- Ryan Langerhans! He must be destroyed!

I don't think I'll need very much. (Though I can always use more.) Like I said, I'm hoping to be self-supporting soon.

Considering I've been reading the site for the past 2 years religiously without ever commenting, I'll gladly help support my braves addiction and send my appreciation to Mac for all he has done.

Needless to say, the TV is staying off.

Hey-o! Renteria!

At 2:22 PM , Blogger Unknown said...

Here we go now. They walk Andruw to face the lefty, McCann. Make that stupid tradition pay.

At 2:24 PM , Blogger Unknown said...

I turned the TV off to do some HW, and the Braves gave up 5 runs. So, we'll see...

Dear New York Mets,

We really want to give this game away, so we're going to bunt into a force at second with a guy hitting over .300. Enjoy the postseason as Division Champions.

Sincerely,

the Atlanta Braves

OMG I LOVE YOU KJ!!!!!!!

At 2:46 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wilson doesn't even move on that pitch, Bobby Cox throws a hissy fit every time someone calls a ball on pitches 18 feet outside the plate. You guys must be really proud of your team. You win with class.

At 2:48 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

At least we don't try to win by shining high-powered flashlights into our opponents' eyes..

At 2:50 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well yeah, our fans are classless. But our players aren't.

At 2:51 PM , Blogger Mac said...

So, should I delete the troll?

God you mets fans are whiny little girls.

At 2:54 PM , Blogger beedee said...

looks like Jobu needs a refill

At 2:55 PM , Blogger Unknown said...

Hey buddy, your team would be lucky if Randolph was HALF the manager Bobby Cox is. I would assume you would know that since he was stomping your guts out for 15 years. See you in the postseason, if you make it as the Wild Card...

At 2:57 PM , Blogger beedee said...

that's right rob...the south's gonna do it again!

At 2:58 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Is it just me or is this ump really inconsistant with his calls?

At 3:01 PM , Blogger beedee said...

his is consistantly bad, but atleast he calls it bad for both teams

At 3:02 PM , Blogger beedee said...

sit on it Potsie!

At 3:02 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

That was obviously a home run by Lo Duca, I can't believe that the umpires called it a flyout.

At 3:05 PM , Blogger Unknown said...

Is "Larry" the best thing Mets fans can come up with?

At 3:06 PM , Blogger Unknown said...

Just think if Kyle Davies becomes a great pitcher that beats the Mets as much as Chipper does. When he pitches, he'll hear "HIRAM! HIRAM!"

At 3:06 PM , Blogger ububba said...

Let's get some more.

Hey, hit it to Wright.

At 3:09 PM , Blogger Unknown said...

Oh... my... goodness. Please be ok McCann.

At 3:09 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Oh god no. Our best player...

At 3:10 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Jesus H Tapdancing Christ - what the f is McCann doing BUNTING????!!!???

If he is hurt, I'll just f'in scream at Cox in my sleep forever

At 3:11 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

BTW, why is Bmac bunting????

At 3:12 PM , Blogger ububba said...

Here comes an odd statement: C'mon, Woodward.

At 3:14 PM , Blogger ububba said...

BMac is bunting because we have a tough lefty out there & we're up by 3 already. A tack-on run is what we need. I have no problem with Bobby's move there.

At 3:16 PM , Blogger beedee said...

hit Wilson please

At 3:16 PM , Blogger ububba said...

Pathetic AB from Woodward. He's one of those guys I have trouble rooting for.

Whatever.

Wickmania.

At 3:18 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Good thing we had mcCann bunt in order to set up that Murderer'S Row of Woodward and Wilson. F'ing criminally poor managing.

At 3:19 PM , Blogger beedee said...

WICKMANIA!!

At 3:20 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ububba - do you really think that not letting McCann hit is the best way to score in that situation? You guarantee Frenchy's walk, and get Woodward, who did exactly what he does. It's really not defensible, except maybe in a risk averse, that's how it's always done, By The Book kind of way. Management by vagina. pah.

At 3:23 PM , Blogger ububba said...

Spike,

I do. Woodward should be able to get the run in.

In any other situation in the game, I don't do it. But I do there.

At 3:24 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

To state the semi-obvious, McCann's bunt attempt was not Cox's call. Cox was thrown out, it was the bench coach.

At 3:25 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

WHIFF!

At 3:25 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

i love pitchers who can throw strikes

At 3:27 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

But "Woodward should get that run home" is only in play if the bunt is successful - McCann doesn't bunt enough to make it a sure, or even high percentage play. His OBP in that situation has got to be better than the % chance of even succeeding with the bunt, which AT BEST gets you Woodward with one out, who could DP to end the inning to make things even worse. I just can't see it.

At 3:29 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Do you really think Cox isn't managing form the tunnel or wherever? The "mgr thrown out of the game" is the biggest farce in sports. And even if he didn't, which I seriously doubt, you know he would've.

At 3:31 PM , Blogger Jay said...

We win, yay!!!

At 3:32 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Indeed. Huge game. Outslugging them at home sends a great message.

At 3:33 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

The Braves return to making the Mets their whipping boy, yay!

At 3:36 PM , Blogger samthebravesfan said...

It's me, Sam. ;)

Tense 9th inning, bleh. Thankfully, the Braves pulled it out. Great for them, bad for Mets fans. If they didn't have Oliver Perez, they'd be 0-6 against Atlanta. ;P

At 3:39 PM , Blogger ububba said...

Spike,

And if McCann had hit into a DP, what do we say? The DP was worth the risk? To me, not there.

Despite his wildness today, Feliciano is death on lefties. We're up by 3. If he gets the bunt down, the bases are gonna be loaded with one out. We want a run and bases loaded with one out is a pretty good situation if one run is what suits you.

If Woodward can't get the run in, why is he on an MLB roster? He's gotta make contact there. He didn't do it. He hit one off the fence yesterday. He's bad, but he's not Joe Schlabotnik.

Didn't work out. What are you gonna do? I don't think it's a bad play, sorry. Luckily, we were in such a situation to argue about. ;)

BTW, that's 4 of 6 vs. NYM, including this inspiring win.

At 3:41 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

If Woodward can't get the run in, why is he on an MLB roster?

The question all America is asking.

At 3:44 PM , Blogger Mac said...

Well, Woodward is better than Langerhans. But who isn't?

At 3:46 PM , Blogger Mac said...

Oh, and I thought I'd link to the new version of my political/personal site. I'm thinking of using a version of this template, but if anyone's in love with the old Braves Journal template I could stick with that.
