This is very bad

Family, Angels star Guerrero try to contact Aybar | ajc.com

Erick Aybar says that he and his family have been trying to contact Willy for days. Apparently, he's with another brother in Boston but won't talk to anyone. Erick, I guess, got Vlad Guerrero to try to talk to Willy but Vlad had no luck either.

My barber says Brian Jordan gave the pictures to Aybar and Pete Orr found out. Pete has an out standing warent for his arrest in Richmond, so he kidnaped Aybar so he wouldn't make the team.

Yeah, this is just weird. I hope the kid is okay and I hope he can come back to Atlanta and be a productive player; ever since the Braves acquired him, I thought he had potential to be a solid backup at the very least.

Another note from my barber:

Tyler Yates to the Cubs.
David Riske from the Royals to the Cubs.
Jaque Jones to the Braves
Langy to the Royals
Martin Prado to the Royals
Carlos Rosa to the Braves (from KC)

I think we should be in the market for a left fielder.

What a productive trade for Wilson Betemit..the Braves get a guy with appendicitis and another guy with substance abuse problem. I wonder if the Braves could prove this was the case before the deal could they get something in return?

Let's not rule out hope on Aybar. We're in 2007 and one of the greatest stories is Josh Hamilton. He was in an even worse situation than it seems Aybar is in, so let's see how things play out. Obviously there will be disciplinary issues involved, but let's not call the Betemit trade a complete waste. Of course Baez was, but let's wait on Aybar.

By the way, this is off-topic (except for the substance abuse part), but Boris Yeltsin just died. Say what you want about the guy, but he was involved in one of the most important historical developments of any of our lifetimes, the fall of the Soviet Union. I'm not going to editorialize any further, but he's a hell of an interesting guy.

Pour out a few drops for comrade homeboy tonight.

Betemit isn't exactly tearing it up in L.A. these days.
AVG .125 | HR 0 | RBI 5 | OBP .288 | SLG .150

I just hope that Aybar gets his life back. I don't really care if he comes back to the braves or with someone else. You just hate to see a life wasted.

Yeltsin commentary. Hey, he lived 15 years beyond the average Russian man.

Betemit is at least outhitting Langerhans. I think he's a four or five day a week player, not an everyday one.

I have no clue how I sent that post 2 times and 10 minutes apart.

Mac, out hitting Langerhans isn't exactly something to be proud of. I think we all know that even Smitty is capable of that.
